Direct Report: Pharmacy Operations Specialist
Description: The Manager, Pharmacy Operations will perform in a technical and administrative role supporting Corporate Pharmacy Management, Director of Pharmacy Personnel, the Director of Information Technology, CFO, President/CEO, and store pharmacy personnel. This position will be bonus eligible.
Essential Duties:
Serve as Fruth Pharmacys primary Pharmacy Compliance Auditor Regularly visit all pharmacy locations; minimum of 1 visit per location per quarter
Complete Store Visit Reporting as required
Audit store compliance with all of the following:
i. State and Federal Law
ii. Fruth Policy and Procedure
iii. Medicare / Medicaid Requirements
iv. Managed Care Requirements
Regularly review Controlled Substance Audit ! reporting and report any required / recommended actions immedi! ately to Corporate Pharmacy Management
Coordinate and Lead investigations with Fruth Pharmacy Loss Prevention Personnel and Boards of Pharmacy as needed
Remain current and present new or changing regulations affecting pharmacy and our abilities to serve as a retail pharmacy
Assist or Lead development or revision of Policy and Procedures related to compliance needs of Fruth
Document and Discuss compliance related issues with staff as warranted via required disciplinary documentation and procedure
Report findings to Fruth Pharmacy Executive Team once a month with action plans, observations, and recommendations
Focus on Business Development Activity Explore, recommend, and present business development opportunities
Own and develop relationships in communities that drive business opportunities
Partner with Director of Pharmacy / Clinical Services to support business opportunities with clinical aspects (i.e.; Immunizations, MTM, Medication Sync, C! ounseling)
i. Must maintain status as a certified immunizer and participate in immunization activities as required
Bonus eligibility will be strongly tied to performance related to business development.
Serve as a backup to the Director of Pharmacy Personnel Learn and master Staffing Angel Scheduling Software
Regularly discuss staffing needs with Director of Pharmacy Personnel
Assist with recruiting events and local recruiting
Perform Floating Pharmacist coverage duties to support stores with training or staffing needs as directed by the Director of Pharmacy Personnel or Corporate Pharmacy Management as needed or required.
Use and Maintain Microsoft Outlook Calendar for all appointments, enabling edit/view access for Executive Secretary, Director of Pharmacy Personnel, and Director(s) of Pharmacy.
Coordinate, Lead, and Report annual Cycle Inventory Counts in Pharmacy Manage Vendor Relationship with Inventory Service Provider
Sch! edule all cycle inventories on an annual basis
Report all completed! inventory results to Corporate Pharmacy Management and the CFO in a manner to be agreed upon by the CFO
Manage and supervise the Pharmacy Operations Specialist with development and implementation of pharmacy training
Partner with Director of Pharmacy Personnel to develop, maintain, and implement pharmacy technician advancement ladders and intern programs. Update and maintain Technician job descriptions
Update and maintain Intern job descriptions
Develop, update, and maintain program / policy on advancement of technicians and interns from level to level.
Project Management Lead and Manage projects as directed
Partner with Director of Operations to lead Pharmacy Remodels
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Manager, Pharmacy Operations must possess the following qualities, including, but are not limited to:
Bachelors Degree in Pharm! acy or PharmD
Minimum 5 years experience as pharmacist in a retail pharmacy setting, where preferably a minimum of 2 years served in a management role.
Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) as a pharmacist in West Virginia and Ohio If not licensed at hire, must complete licensure requirements within 90 days of hire.
Multi-store management experience desired (i.e.; Pharmacy District Manager)
Strong computer skills which include proficiency in spreadsheet, database, and word processor programs
Exceptional communication skills with all levels within the organization.
Team focused individual who thrives in fast paced environment.
Open to change and is self-motivated to make a significant difference to the business.
Deadline driven individual with exceptional prioritization skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a given time period.
Strong project management skills.

Certificates, Licenses, and Training: Complete Companys training, including but not limited to: new hire orientation, customer service training, and safety training. Associates must be at least 18 years of age to work as a Manager, Pharmacy Operations, must have a high school diploma or certificate of high school equivalence, passed a background check and drug test to begin employment with Fruth. Candidate must possess and maintain a Drivers License in accordance with the laws in state of residence. Position involves a substantial amount of local travel, roughly defined at 2 hour radius from the corporate office location. A felony convict! ion or federal healthcare program exclusion status of any kind will dis! qualify an applicant from employment.
