Title and Summary
Manager, Software Engineering
The Manager, Software Engineering will lead and participate in Cloud Infrastructure management aspects of the Merchant Loyalty Platform, will play a significant leadership role in enhancing the automation capabilities of the team and operations, and will contribute to and foster a high-performance collaborative workplace.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to strategy development and planning of critical initiatives across teams spanning multiple technology programs, services, and functions
- Manages forecasting, tracking and reporting on technology and workforce budgets for own area
- Leads teams in implementing support strategies that ensure provision of highly reliable processes, services, and support
- Leads efforts to implement quality or process engineering best practices to deliver services and solutions that meets Mastercard technology needs
- Monitors processes to scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolves systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
- Assists with engineer training and mentoring in Infrastructure Engineering and other best practice methodologies, empowering technical talent to build high quality services and better products
- Defines, maintains and implements KPIs for responsible Programs, Services, practices, and functions to accurately measure, report, and improve service or process health.
- Manages a team, conducts goal setting, performance appraisal processes, guides and coaches own team and others
Experiences
- Experience setting priorities, objectives, and driving deliverables within global technology and/or process domains
- Experience leading a major work stream or multiple smaller work streams for a large technology initiative, demonstrating expertise in resolving bottlenecks and escalations and ensuring achievement of goals
- Experience leading and performing process improvements and automation to deliver a reduction in cost and time to deployment
- Experience presenting project delivery outcomes to leaders
- Experience acting as an expert resource on specific projects/processes
