The Supervisor Pharmacist, Third Shift's role is to dispense, compound, label, store, and ensure the proper use of pharmaceutical preparations, contribute to the efficient operation of the department, direct the Pharmacy Technicians and advance the goals of Norton Healthcare. The Supervisor Pharmacist, Third Shift uses the principles of pharmaceutical care to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes for individual patients. The Supervisor Pharmacist, Third Shift may provide pharmacy-related education to pharmacists, technicians, other health care practitioners, and the public. It is expected that the Supervisor Pharmacist, Third Shift shall exercise leadership in all matters related to the medication use process for neonate/infant (birth to 1 year), pediatric (1-12 years), adolescent (12-18 years), adult (18-65), and geriatrics (over 65 years). This Supervisor Pharmacist, Third Shift is responsible for managing 3rd shift pharmacy operationsby providing leadership and supervision to the staff members he/she supervise. This individual is also responsible for administrative duties assigned by the pharmacy director to assist in the overall success of the pharmacy department. With responsibility for the assigned operational and clinical (if appropriate) supervision of third shift, this leader facilitates the development and delivery of excellence in service practice by evaluating and coordinating the services delivered. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to supervise the services appropriate for the patient/family population being served. Integrates the department's services with the hospital's primary functions. Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacyKentucky Pharmacist License or eligible for licensureOne year hospital pharmacy work experienceDesiredPharmD, Masters and/or residency trainedBoard Certified pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)Knowledge of Microsoft office
