VNA Nazareth Home Care (VNA), a service of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare, has provided home care and wellness services to central Kentucky and southern Indiana communities for more than a century. Our innovative services and preventative health programs recognize the needs of our patients and promote the highest quality of life. VNA Nazareth Home Care has a team of registered nurses, social workers, companions, dieticians, pharmacists, aides and physical, occupational and speech therapists. The team provides care for Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, mental health and ventilator use and offers programs for low vision, stroke management, wound management, better breathing, falls prevention, healthy heart and infusion therapy.
Required Experience:
Assures accurate and timely reimbursement for home health services via claim submission to all payers utilizing and following contract guidelines and/or federal and state regulations. Maintains billing records; handles inquiries from patients, third party payors and other VNA staff regarding patient and payer billings.
Minimum of one year experience in billing of patient accounts required, preferably in a home health care setting.
Knowledge of third party payer and Medicare/Medicaid general billing requirements. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Accurate keyboard and calculator skills; personal computer skills preferred. Excellent “customer service†telephone skills and techniques to handle complaints and inquiries. Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with general public and all levels of staff.
Required Education:
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of one year post secondary vocational or technical training required.
Acceptable Equivalency: High school diploma or GED with a minimum of three years general patient billing or accounts receivable experience in a health care setting.
