The technician will report daily to the clinical pharmacists of INCAPS, including the Director of INCAPS, on all matters related to patien! ts, APPE students, and daily pharmacy operations.
The technician is responsible for entering and processing all prescription and consultation orders from health care providers.
The technician will also be responsible for conducting daily and weekly inventory analysis, and thus be in charge of placing orders to maintain needed inventories.
Additionally, the technicians will be responsible for contacting all patients that have been referred to INCAPS for MTM consultations, and will schedule appointments for said consultations.
Essential Job Function
·
Perform daily and weekly inventory counts on all medications, vaccines, drug samples and medical supplies.

Input and process daily orders for medications, vaccinations, or MTM consultations from physicians and other providers.
·
Provide correspondence to physician offices based on services rendered at and by INCAPS pharmacy.

Aid in the patient consultation process, by contact! ing patients to schedule consultations, and updating medical records prior to consultations.

Participate in all other initiatives of INCAPS, which may involve participation in smoking cessation courses, immunization drives, and various health fairs in the community.

Actively participate in the development/implementation/expansion of clinical initiatives as directed by the clinical pharmacists of INCAPS.

Maintains professional competence by attending continuing education programs, In-services, workshops, and certification programs and/or seminars.

Attends mandatory/required education classes.

Stays up to date with relevant practice guidelines.
Requirements
·
! Pharmacy technician certification
·
Excellent commun! ication skills with patients and health care providers
·
Competency with technology including, computers, mainstream software programs, and faxing
Desirables
·
Prior experience with pharmacy operations
·
Prior experience with managed care pharmacy and pharmacy benefits management
