The clinical research pharmacist is an integral member of the Pharmacy team and performs responsibilities which enhance the service and reputation of the department. These du! ties include coordinating, collaborating, and providing expertise in support of clinical investigation drug trials; education of staff for responsibilities related to clinical trials; providing accurate and efficient dispensing of medications; performing administrative functions associated with clinical trials, maintaining overall compliance and operations with clinical trials in all pharmacy areas; communicate with staff within and outside the department in relation to clinical trials; perform cross-functional duties of the staff pharmacist/clinical pharmacist; and other duties consistent with the job classification as required.

The clinical research pharmacist will work to review protocols for prospective investigational protocols, work with NHORA for pharmacy budget/fees, maintain regulatory compliance with investigational trials, ensure education for staff and accountability for studies. The clinical research pharmacist will act as a liaison for communication b! etween the clinical trials unit and the children’s oncology research ! group to ensure collaboration in all aspects of research activities.

Required

Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy

Kentucky Pharmacist License

Two years hospital pharmacy work experience or equivalent; 1 year or more experience with clinical research Desired

PharmD, MBA or MS; ASHP Residency preferred

Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)
