To provide technical support and assistance to the pharmacist staff in the provision of clinical and pharmaceuti! cal distribution services and delivery of quality and cost effective drug therapy to all patients (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric) at Methodist Hospital. Must be able to establish priorities to accomplish the daily work routine/tasks, some as assigned by a supervisor, others by routine established work. This position must be able to work both independently and with other hospital employees (interdepartmental and intradepartmental). Must be able to exercise judgment and decision-making within the scope of training and responsibility of the position.
Required Skills
Must be able to read, write and follow basic instructions. Applicants must accurately compute a pharmaceutical math quiz if they do not have a high school diploma or GED or if the Director of Pharmacy (or his designee) desires the applicant to take a math quiz. Must become registered with the state of Kentucky . Prefer minimum of 1 year experience in a hospital pharmacy, LT! C pharmacy, or retail pharmacy, or experience as a unit secret! ary or other related work. Must obtain a National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) within 2 years of hire. Must register with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy TechnicianMust complete IV admixture training program within 6 months of hire and pass an annual competency test. A working knowledge of the following is desirable: basic computer skills inpatient/outpatient dispensing as gained through training, in-service, and experience automated dispensing system (Pyxis), unit dose packaging. Must have knowledge/awareness of social and communication skills required to exchange information and ideas effectively with all customers.
Required Experience
Prefer minimum of 1 year experience in a hospital pharmacy, LTC pharmacy, or retail pharmacy, or experience as a unit secretary or other related work.
