Pharmacy Technician/UKHC
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Description: University of Kentucky is currently interviewing Pharmacy Technician/UKHC right now, this position will be delegated in Kentucky. More details about this position opportunity kindly read the description below. Assists pharmacists in medicine preparation and distribution for the KY Clinic Pharmacy or future discharge or retail pharmacy sites operating under University of KY Pharmacy Services.! Fills prescriptions in a busy retail based setting. May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level. Requires attention to detail and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Must be reliable and punctual. This position also requires teamwork, good communication skills and interpersonal skills. Effective 4/1/09, the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy requires all pharmacy technicians to be registered with the state and pay a $25 fee within 30 days of hire. This registration must be renewed annually.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
High school diploma or equiv., general chemistry knowledge, basic algebra, proficient reading/writing in the English language.
Preferred Education / Experience
One year previous work experience (preferably in a related field. Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate is encouraged to take the N! ational Certification exam from PTCB within 1 year of hire. Sa! lary range based on experience and certification. Higher salary range/grade classification for certified technician license from PTCB.
