Summary of Purpose: The Associate Director â"Pharmacy is responsible for managing pharmacists in the accurate dispensing of prescription me! dications and to monitor the daily work flow to meet production goals. He/She is also responsible for over-site of the pharmacy technicians supervisor and the fulfillment supervisor, ensuring that all prescriptions are filled accurately.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Operationally manage pharmacists, supervisor of Pharmacy Technicians and Supervisor Fulfillment Technicians to ensure accurate and timely work..
- Serve as a liaison among patients, physician offices, payers and pharmaceutical company representatives.
- Review patient medication history for allergies and drug interactions.
- Track prescription delivery status and other outstanding issues.
- Adhere to all federal, state and local pharmacy regulations.
- Respond as necessary to requests for patient counseling.
- Intervene in quality failure recovery as required and reports all incidents to the Executive Director â" Pharmacy Services.
- Measure,! monitor and report on KPIâs or clinical standards as well a! s internal standards for measuring program success
- Develop and adhere to budgetary guidelines.
- Develop and implement customized Standard Operating Procedures to accommodate the specific needs of specialty drugs.
- Serves as a liaison among patients, physician offices, payers and pharmaceutical company representatives for specific drug programs.
- Manage, recruit, train, mentor and develop subject manner experts, case managers, reimbursement specialists and intake specialist to develop future management prospects.
- Set up reports based on metrics.
- Manage data to ensure efficiency, good productivity and avoid duplication of efforts, etc.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis as directed by the BSS Director of Operations and BSS management team.
- Understand the basic data bases including NG, Phone Reporter, CPR+, MailRx and 3PL inventory databases
Internal/External Contact: The Associate Director -Pharmacy will be in contact with vendors and customers, as well as with key members of the RxCrossroads management staff as needed to complete the job requirements successfully. Must also be able to communicate with external customers such as patients, doctorâs offices and insurance companies.
Minimum Education Required: Doctorate of Pharmacy/Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky.
Minimum Experience Required: Three to five years retail, home health, or hospital pharmacy experience is preferred. Knowledge of PBM industry/managed care industry/pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required (except where noted as preferred): Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications. Must be able ! to work in a team-oriented environment. Ability to correctly input data! into the computer. Able to communicate effectively whether in person, on the telephone, or through correspondence.
