Detailed specification about this job opportunity please read the description below. UK HealthCare Information Technology Services has posted the Director, EHR/Informatics. This role will be held accountable for establishing strong credibility & collaboration with our physicians, customers, department leadership, affiliated organizations, all I.T. staff members. This is a highly matrix! ed organization which requires excellent interpersonal skills, persuasion and influencing skills, ability to lead large multi-disciplinary teams through significant amount of varied work assignments.

UK HealthCare is a comprehensive healthcare system consisting of the medical, nursing, health sciences, public health, dental and pharmacy patient care activities of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, and in several off-site locations. UK HealthCare is expanding through the construction of a new hospital and potential future acquisitions.

A vital position charged with leadership of IT applications and informatics teams in the planning, developing and evaluating the implementation, support, maintenance, staff training and improvement of the enterprise EHR applications including but not limited to acute care and ambulatory settings. Additionally, this position actively participates in continued evaluation of existing and developing EHR systems agains! t proven standards in functionality, design, continuity of car! e and implications of workflow efficiency and cognitive workflows. Ensures monitoring of system sustainability, reliability and maintainability (performance, releases, upgrades, updages and patches). Actively lead organizational performance improvement teams. Evaluates and improve customer service including coordination of services across UKHC IT to plan and delivery appropriate system capacity to meet current and anticipated needs. Facilitates and/or leads identification and measurement of key metrics and effectiveness of planned strategies inthe attainment of expected outcomes.

The successful candidate will be a Bachelor prepared licensed clinician (Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist or Registered Pharmacist). Additionally, eight years or more healthcare experience utilizing clinical information including management of information technology teams.

11. In depth knowledge of clinical delivery of care in the acute care setting
12. Ability to use Microsoft Project and ProjectServer applications.

Preferred Education / Experience
1. Bachelors of Arts or Sciences in Nursing, Health Services or Business Administration.
2. 10 years healthcare experience.
3. Three or more year! s managing clinical application teams.
4. Three or more years impl! ementing and supporting Eclipsys/Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager and Pharmacy applications.
