The role of the Pharmacy Technician is to support and assist the Pharmacist in the medication use process. This employee assists in providing safe and efficient medication management/patient care to patients (neonate to geriatric) physicians, employees, and the public.
This position requires taking responsibility within appropriate guidelines under the supervision of the pharmacist for medication preparation and distribution duties. The pharmacy technician functions in an environment which requires teamwork and flexibility to provide medications to patients.
Responsibilities may include IV admixture, working with technology, and deliveries of medications.
Required
Registered Technician with KY Board of Pharmacy or eligible within 30 days of employment.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) within 90 days of employment.
Minimum 6 months previous pharmacy experience and or completion of ASHP accredited pharmacy technician program. Desired
High school graduate or equivalent.; Completion of ASHP accredited pharmacy technician program
Demonstrated computer skills preferred.
