Licensed Pharmacist
Physical Requirements
May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Shift
Primarily day shift, 8:00 am â€" 6:30 pm; 7 days on/7 days off; every other weekend; Holidays will be a part of the rotation. Shift hours and days of the week may change based on the needs of the department.
Job Summary
Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written orders from physicians. Reviews and interprets prescriptions and drug profiles to ensure appropriate drug therapy has been prescribed and ensures that drug interations are evaluated. Position supports facilitating discharge patients from UK inpatient hospitals in acquisition of medications written upon discharge. Position supports and provides assistance with the documentation, filling of prescriptions, financial assistance with acquisition of medications, billing and dispensing of the medications to bedside for patients using our Meds To Beds program.

Strong clinical skills; knowledge of drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; team mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.
Knowledge of prescription drug insurance; ability to prioritize; attention to detail.

Preferred Education/Experience
Ambulatory/Retail Pharmacist experience highly preferred.
