The role of the Pharmacy Technician-Retail is to support and assist the Pharmacist in the medication use process, ensuring the delivery of competent and effici ent pharmaceutical care / drug delivery at appropriate service levels through daily allocation and coordination of resources to assure that patient needs are effectively met. This position requires taking responsibility within appropriate guidelines under the supervision of the pharmacist for many of the medication preparation and distribution duties. The Technician functions in a multi-skilled environment, which requires the application of teamwork and flexibility to provide medications for neonate/infant through geriatric, depending on practice site. The incumbent works independently, both internal and external to the pharmacy department. This position has a high degree of interaction with patients, family members, visitors and other members of the health care team. The pharmacy technician is proficient in point of sale processes, regulatory issues and medication dispensing and has excellent customer service skills.
Required:
- One year in a pharmacy or completion of American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician program
- Pharmacy Technician (State) (KY) Must obtain Pharmacy Technician (State) (PHT) credential within 30 days of employment if no prior technician experience. Must obtain Pharmacy Technician (State) (PHT) credential at hire if prior experience as technician.

- Certified Pharmacy Technician (National)
Screening Requirements: Drug Screen, Background Check, License and Employment reference verification.
