The Assistant Costing Manager works under guidance of Costing Manager, performs variety of activities and analysis related to new Business Pricing and Quarterly Pricing process. Supports Quote Requesters, Sourcing Team and Business Unit to ensure incoming quote packages and outgoing pricing files for new and existing business are analyzed and managed for timeliness, completeness, and competitiveness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support for Costing Manager and Business Unit resources to drive the optimal costing analysis and pricing solutions
- Effectively manage support infrastructure for Quarterly Pricing and New Business activities
- Make suggestions to continuously improve in the development and deployment of Costing tool sets
- Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style
- Demonstrate expertise in quoting materials and the appropriate tool sets
- Provide analytical support for New Customer, Existing Customer, New Design Material Quotation and Costing activities
- Analyze cost solutions to ensure competitiveness
- Thoroughly analyze RFQ data to ensure most competitive TCO quote package is provided to the requestor
- Ensure pricing data is visible in Jabil’s pricing tools
- Recommend ownership for the negotiation of all non-Customer and non-GCM managed parts, to ensure full coverage
Performance Management:
- Maintain metrics for measuring necessary aspects of costing performance
- Analyze and report materials price statistics
- Set informed targets for Commodity Management’s quarterly supplier negotiations provide performance feedback and request explanation behind missed opportunities
- Review and solution data integrity issues (e.g. costing fields, AML, sourcing owners, etc.)
- Review Quote Analyst data input on new quotes
- Review costing process, overall analysis and timeliness to ensure process adequately supports requestors’ deadlines
Communication:
- Analyze cost competitiveness from the Quote resources and provide feedback via regular communication and effective collaboration
- Provide outstanding customer service by solving problems quickly and effectively, making customer issues a priority
- Provide regular updates to Costing Mgr and relevant SCM team members on quotations, metrics, and analysis activities
- Develop effective relationships with Business Unit Management to ensure their confidence in costing of new business and quarterly pricing activities
- Liaise with other departments – Global Sourcing Team and Business Unit to understand strategic direction and requirements
- Ensure all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Supply Chain professional with an understanding of pricing and quoting processes
- Good communicator and contributor
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to be flexible on work assignment changes, and to meet changing deadlines
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to converse and write in English. Knowing Mandarin is an added advantage
- Good interpersonal skills, assertive, friendly and able to communicate with a wide array of individuals
- Knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry
- Knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes as well as global customs regimes
- Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills is a given
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- APICS or NAPM certification preferred
- Applicable mechanical and/or electrical quoting/pricing experience is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain, preferably in electronics or mechanical procurement/supply chain
- Or a combination of education, experience and/or training
