Sweet Thea Bakery is looking for a morning delivery driver, to pick up our fresh baking in Langley and deliver to Tsawwassen and Vancouver, 5 days a week (Wednesday through Sunday).
The shift runs from 5:00am to approximately 10:00 am daily (based on traffic), for a total of 25 hours per week. Pay is guaranteed for 5 hours a day, even if you complete the circuit in less time.
The job is
Pick up our delivery van at our Main Street Location, and drive to our Langley Bakery.
6 am Arrive at our Langley production facility, and unload any items that were picked up the day before for return. Carefully load our Ford van with fresh pastries, supplies, coffee cups and other items, for our two locations.
Le the bakery, and drive to our location inside the BC Ferries terminal in Tsawwassen
Unload the delivery as directed by our Quay Manager, and pick up any returned items. Assist the staff in setup if it is busy.
Drive to our shop location at 27th and Main, and carefully unload pastries and baking, and help set up the baking display prior to shop opening; as well as loading any returned items.
As this job requires handling food, you will be required to get Foodsafe Level 1 certified (a short one day course) which we will pay for. Because of the early start and our location, preference will be given to applicants living with short commuting distance of our Vancouver location.
Successful applicant must have a good driving record, be strong enough to lift and load 25 lbs, and be a non-smoker. You will also be responsible for making sure the tank is full, and servicing the vehicle when it is necessary.The B.C. Ferries facility is part of the federal Department of Transport, so you will have to apply for a security badge which gives them to right to do a background check.
Reliability is super important to us - you MUST be on time each day.
