For detail informations about this vacancy opportunity kindly read the description below. Assists the Pharmacist in the performance of routine duties in Practice of Hospital Pharmacy Profession. The job includes the filling of patient trays, preparing Physician's Orders for medications and entering drug orders on the Meds Manager Computer System for Patient's Profiles. All work the Technician does must be under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Fills Patient's Medication Trays for a twenty-four hours supply using a Unit-dose system; Delivers filled Patient's Medication Trays directly to all Nursing Stations; Makes hourly runs to all Nursing Stations to pick up new drug orders and deliver the previous hours medications when a runner is not available; Fills the Physician's Drug Orders and returns medications on the next hourly run; Files processed Physicians' Orders daily Filing Jackets in filing cabinet; Enters patient's medication orders on Meds Manager; Keeps patients' Profile Records on Meds Manager up-to-date; Enters charge tickets on Meds Manager; Answers the telephone for inside calls and outside calls. Works with Nursing Service concerning Patient's medications; Waits on individuals (Public and Nursing Service) at the Pharmacy window; Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions; Pulls patients' dismissals and medications; Restocks return medications from Dismissals; Transfers patients' medications; Cleans Pharmacy shelves and pulls out-dated medications; Prepares floor stock for Nursing Stations and Ancillary Departments; Performs monthly Nursing Service inspections; Helps stock the daily wholesale drug order; Other duties as deemed necessary by the Pharmacist or Technician Supervisor. Follows Hospital and Departmental Polices and Procedures.
Qualifications
High School / GED. Pharmacy Tech Certification and registration with the Ky. Board of Pharmacy. Ability to read and write and communicate via the telephone. BLS certification preferred.
Closing Statement
Rotating 10 hour shifts Includes weekend and holiday rotation
