The Managing Consultant for Pharmacy Services will provide on-site se! rvices in accordance with client’s directives. The Managers will provide, but not be limited to, the following services:
- Review of pharmacy licenses with current pharmacist-in-charge (PIC)
- Optimization of wholesaler relationship that is in place in the hospital
- Group Purchasing Organization contracts adherence to ensure the best drug costs possible are obtained and to maximize any rebates available to the hospital
- Review and updating of Policies and Procedures consistent with ever-changing accreditation standards delivery of care needs
- Assessment of and assistance with Performance Improvement Programs to ensure patient safety and continual interdepartmental efficiencies
- Assessment of and assistance with Drug Usage Evaluation Program to meet and exceed accreditation standards
- Assessment of and assistance with Clinical Services and Training to ensure successful on-going clinical programs
- Operat! ional assistance, oversight and training to ensure compliance ! with established policies and procedures, JCAHO requirements, and state and federal regulation
- Assurance of continuing and uninterrupted Pharmacy leadership throughout the relationship and especially during the transition period when a permanent manager is hired
- Periodic reports for and meetings with administration to highlight departmental activities, successes, opportunities, and future activities
