PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - INPATIENT PHARMACY

Provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the registered pharmacist.
Job Responsibilities
- Refills and mai ntains automated dispensing system.
- Orders and maintains inventory.
- Operates automation.
- Performs IV fluid activities.
- Performs service technician functions including operating rooms by distributing and maintaining room grays and anesthesia boxes.
- Performs IV admixture functions including IV chemotherapy.
- Performs narcotic technician functions.

Education
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern in the state of Kentucky required. Certified as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required within 1 year of employment in this position. Registration as a Pharmacy Intern supersedes the CPhT requirement.
Work Experience
0 to 4 years progressive experience in a related field required.
Skills and Attributes
Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
