PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - INPATIENT PHARMACY

Location: Owensboro, Kentucky

Provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the registered pharmacist.

Job Responsibilities

• Refills and mai ntains automated dispensing system.
• Orders and maintains inventory.
• Operates automation.
• Performs IV fluid activities.
• Performs service technician functions including operating rooms by distributing and maintaining room grays and anesthesia boxes.
• Performs IV admixture functions including IV chemotherapy.
• Performs narcotic technician functions.

Education

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern in the state of Kentucky required. Certified as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required within 1 year of employment in this position. Registration as a Pharmacy Intern supersedes the CPhT requirement.

Work Experience

0 to 4 years progressive experience in a related field required.

Skills and Attributes

Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
